The TV personality completed his early education at the Catholic High School in Pensacola, Florida, and then went to the University of Alabama where he earned a B.A., and in 1990 went to the College of Law at the University of Florida to earn his J.D.

Joe Scarborough did not find it a blissful experience to be married, as he was married three times and all ended in divorce.

His first marriage was to Melanie Hinton in 1986, and from this union, two sons were born before it ended in divorce in 1999. Two years later, in 2001, he entered into the covenant with Susan Waren, who worked for Florida State Governor Jeb Bush as an adjutant and also as a Congressional committee staffer. The marriage of Scarborough and Susan lasted until 2013, during which time the couple had a daughter whom they welcomed in August 2003 and a son in May 2008.
