The parents of Marie are Christiane and Michel Besnier. Her mother was born in 1942. The late father of Marie, Michel, was the son of André Besnier. Before his death, Michel Besnier handed over the dairy business to his three children. Michel Besnier came from Laval, Mayenne, France, and was born on September 18, 1928, the only child of his parents. He took over his father’s dairy business after his father, André Besnier, died in 1955. Before André Besnier’s death, he and Michel jointly ran the dairy company with André as CEO. After the death of André Besnier, Michel Besnier took over the family business and became CEO of the Besnier Group. It was Michel Besnier who changed the name of the company from Besnier Group to Lactalis, and he did so in 1999, one year before his death.

Michel Besnier and his wife had three children and bought several assets in France and outside France, including their house in Marbella, Spain.
