His full name is Kevin Michael Harvick and he was born on December 8, 1975, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Mike and JoNell (Walker) Harvick. In his family, he has an older brother named Clayton and a younger sister named Amber.
Kevin Harvick went to school at North High School, where he played baseball, basketball, soccer, and football like most other sports-loving kids. After high school, he enrolled at Bakersfield College to train as an architect but later gave up his studies to pursue his passion of becoming a professional racer.
Kevin Harvick’s love of racing began as a child when his parents gave him a go-kart as a graduation gift in 1980. He learned to handle it seriously and drove it in races with his peers at times. Born in California, he began his NASCAR career in 1995 when he competed at the Mesa Marin Raceway in the Craftsman Truck Series, where he finished 27th in the number 72 family car. In 1997 he drove for the NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series. In the same year, he also signed a contract with Spears Motorsports. Two years later he made his debut in the NASCAR Busch Series, while the following year he competed in Richard Childress Racing in Chevrolet Car No. 2. With each season Kevin Harvick improved his personal best and became more confident to compete in even higher rates.

Kevin and Delana Harvick closed the knot on February 28, 2001, in Las Vegas Nevada, at the same time as he made his debut in the Sprint Cup Series. What a way to start a union.
