His full name is Kevin Michael Harvick and he was born on December 8, 1975, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Mike and JoNell (Walker) Harvick. In his family, he has an older brother named Clayton and a younger sister named Amber.

Kevin Harvick went to school at North High School, where he played baseball, basketball, soccer, and football like most other sports-loving kids. After high school, he enrolled at Bakersfield College to train as an architect but later gave up his studies to pursue his passion of becoming a professional racer.

Professional Career

Born in California, he began his NASCAR career in 1995 when he competed at the Mesa Marin Raceway in the Craftsman Truck Series, where he finished 27th in the number 72 family car. In 1997 he drove for the NASCAR Grand National Division, AutoZone West Series. In the same year, he also signed a contract with Spears Motorsports. Two years later he made his debut in the NASCAR Busch Series, while the following year he competed in Richard Childress Racing in Chevrolet Car No. 2. With each season Kevin Harvick improved his personal best and became more confident to compete in even higher rates.

Everything about Kevin Harvick revolved around racing, no wonder his wife is also associated with the sport. He met his partner – DeLana (Linville) Harvick – in 2000 at the Michigan International Speedway, where she was working in public relations for another driver named Randy LaJoie. She also comes from a racing driver’s family, as her father is a former NASCAR Xfinity Series (formerly Busch Series) driver, John Paul Linville. At some point, Delana also tried her hand at driving, but it didn’t go beyond a toy.
