LaVar Ball was born on October 23, 1967, and has four brothers named LaFrance, LaValle, LaRenzo, and Lashon. He was active in high school in American football and basketball at Canoga Park, as well as at West Los Angeles College, Washington State, and California State University. In his youth, Ball was a prominent football quarterback and a striker on the Canoga Park High School basketball team.
