Being a rising star and a freshman was one of the biggest challenges Conan Gray had to face. It was very difficult to constantly update his YouTube and meet with the classes. With the help of his managers, he was able to develop a strategy that helped him combine the two tasks efficiently.

In 2013 Conan Gray launched his official YouTube channel as “ConanXCanon”. In the meantime, however, he had changed it to his full name Conan Gray. Although he posts more music videos, he also posts videos on a variety of topics. In one of the videos, he talked about things like his clothes, favorite music and movies, home visits, and even college issues.

As part of his ingenuity and creativity, he made a video of a song that he wrote and performed. These “songs”, his original piece, received a lot of attention on YouTube. His cover songs include Grow, Idle Town, Lovesick Boys, The Other Side, Treehouse, and many other videos.

When he was growing up, he was mocked because he was not man enough. This inspired him to make a video called “I’m a Girly Boy and I Don’t Care”. The sarcasm and authenticity of the video made it popular as it spread within a short time. He didn’t defend his girlish nature but accepted that he never really felt like a man enough, and felt comfortable with this perception of himself by people. He even continues to show female tendencies on some of his videos – things like painting his nails.
