But for those unfamiliar with the name, a brief introduction to the professional NBA championship-winning player currently playing for the Denver Nuggets will be necessary.

Born on June 21, 1980, in the city of Los Angeles, Richard Allen Jefferson spent much of his early years in Phoenix, Arizona, where his parents worked as Christian missionaries. He received his early education at Moon Valley High School in West Phoenix, where he was largely involved in the high school basketball team that later won the 4A State Championship in 1998.

When he transferred to the University of Arizona, Richard was easily spotted by the legendary coach Lute Olsen, who followed his skills on the court. In his senior session, he led the Wildcats to the 2001 NCAA National Championship game, where he averaged 11.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, and won the college team the NCAA tournament three times.

Richard’s professional career as a basketball player began with the New Jersey Nets, where he played for seven seasons with nearly 489 games and the highest average of 22.6 points between 2007 and 2008. He then played 82 games for a year with the Milwaukee Bucks (2008-2009) before moving to San Antonio, where he scored 104 goals. Between 2011 and 2012, Richard played 41 games for the Spurs with an average of 9.2 points, and on March 10, 2012, during the 2012 Pac-12 Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, he was inducted into the Pac-12 Basketball Hall of Honor and began his journey as one of the smartest players in the basketball world. In the same year, he played for the Golden State Warriors, then in 2013 for the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks before settling into the Cleveland Cavaliers on August 5, 2015.

There he began playing Game 3 of the NBA final round in place of the injured Kevin Love. Jefferson gave his team an impressive boost after scoring nine points with eight rebounds in 33 minutes. After many fights, the Cavaliers won the series and became the first team in NBA history to win the championship after a 3-1 deficit.

On October 19, 2017, Richard Jefferson signed a one-year contract worth $2.3 million with the Denver Nuggets. His net worth is estimated at $40 million with an annual salary of approximately $2.445 million. Jefferson is listed in the top 10 highest-paid players of his club together with Jamal Murray, the Canadian professional basketball player of the Denver Nuggets.

Before his failed marriage to Kesha, Jefferson had dated Jennie Finch, a former softball pitcher and first baseman at the University of Arizona. The two met during their college years, but their relationship didn’t last long because it was canceled as soon as Jefferson entered the NBA.

Meanwhile, Jefferson is currently dating Teresa Lourenco, the beautiful model born in Trinidad in 1981 and raised in Germany.
