The Bell family lived in Boston, Massachusetts, in the Mattapan district of the city when Kamau was between five and twelve years old.
His educational background can be traced back to the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. It is also on record that he also attended the University of Pennsylvania before finally dropping out to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Kamau began his career as a socio-political comedian and later became the establishing founder of the comedy collective “Laughter Against the Machine”, which gained popularity with prominent distributors such as WTF with Marc Maron and Citizen Radio.
