Jonah Ray is an American comic actor and writer, best known as the current host of the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 podcast, and one of the stars of the Comedy Central podcast, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and The Nerdist podcast.

He was born August 3, 1982, as Jonah Ray Rodrigues; Ray is from Honolulu, Hawaii, but grew up in the city of Kailua, which is on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. As a child, the talented comedian had a dream to become a showman when he grew up, and today he lives his dream and does what he does best. He completed his basic training in Hawaii before moving to Los Angeles, where he finally launched his comedy career. Jonah is also a talented singer and has been a member of various rock band groups since childhood.
Career
Jonah began his career as a musician in Los Angeles and then switched to stand-up comedy and writing. His first appearance as a writer was on The Andy Milonakis Show. He then became both a writer and comedian on the Showtime series The Offensive Show. Ray has also appeared on other popular television shows such as The Sarah Silverman Show, Crossbills, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Soup and Saul of the Molemen, to name a few.

In 2013, Jonah Ray began hosting the comedy show The Meltdown together with Kumail Nanjiani. Later that year, Comedy Central took over the show and changed its name to The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. The show premiered in July 2014 and ended in 2016 after three seasons. He also launched his own podcast called Jonah Raydio, which features many independent music stars, including Har Mar Superstar, Andrew Jackson Jihad, and Man Man Man.
In 2015, Joel Hodgson, creator of the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 comedy series, announced that the series would be hosted by Jonah Ray. During the Father’s Day celebrations in June 2018, Jonah posted his father’s picture with that of his older brother on Twitter.
