Kevin Love is a professional American basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin Wesley Love was born on September 7, 1988, in Santa Monica, California, the middle of three children of Stan (father) and Karen (mother) Love. His siblings are Collin (older brother) and Emily Love (younger sister). His other family members were the founders of the band – The Beach Boys, Mike Love, who is his uncle, and Kathleen McCartney Hearst, his aunt and former triathlete.
He grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where he played with his NBA colleague Klay Thompson. Kevin, like every other NBA professional player today, started playing basketball in his early school days. He played for the Lake Oswego Lakers, which he led to the 2005 State Championship games, but unfortunately, they were played with a net by Jesuit High School.
The following summer he played for the Southern California All-Stars and won three MVP awards with them. He ended his basketball career in high school as the best scorer in the Oregon Boys’ basketball history with a total of 2,626 points for himself.
