The Englishman was born Michael Hazen James McIntyre on February 21, 1976, in Merton, London. Michael was first seen on the big screen in the BBC One studios on April 1, 1989, during an episode of the Saturday morning show Going Live! He was just 13 years old at the time and was filmed throwing a question to Five Star, the pop group that was a guest on the show.

Years later, Michael established a lucrative relationship with the station. The comedian appeared three times in BBC One’s “Live at the Apollo” show in 2007, 2008, and 2009. From 2009 he also hosted his Saturday night show Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow with the station. McIntyre’s comedy DVD releases have been distributed over five million times in the UK alone. DVDs include Happy and Glorious, Hello Wembley, Showtime, and Live and Laughing.

Throughout his career he has participated in a variety of comedy panels and talk shows, including Chris’ Moyle’s Quiz Night; 8 out of 10 Cats; The Apprentice: You’re Fired!; Friday Night with Jonathan Ross; and Have I Got News For You, among others. He was also featured in an episode of the BBC’s Top Gear program.

Michael’s penchant for charity events was evident in 2010 when he attended a fundraiser organized by Channel 4’s Comedy Gala in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. In the same year, he also appeared on Channel 4’s The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

In 2011, Michael McIntyre added to his personality profile on television when he became a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent with David Hasselhoff and Amanda Holden, replacing Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan. He took responsibility for 19 episodes before switching to the complementary program Britain’s Got More Talent in the same year. Michael also appeared on ITV’s Royal Variety Performance in 2006 and 2008 and hosted the 2010 and 2014 editions.

McIntyre’s relationship with BBC One continued when he briefly co-hosted the channel’s Comic Relief show in 2011 and 2013. In 2014 he launched his own talk show on BBC One, The Michael McIntyre Chat Show. His most recent collaboration with the network began in April 2016 and saw him work as host of Michael McIntyre’s Saturday night Big Show.

His only two acting roles are in the comedic horror film BloodBath at the House of Death, in which he played a supporting role as a child in 1984, and in a two-minute comedy clip entitled How to Behave, in which he portrayed a cinema user in 2012. In 2010 he published the autobiography Life and Laughter: My Story.

The Englishman has a huge fan base, as evidenced by his 2012 tour of the UK, which included 71 venues and saw ticket sales of around £21 million. Due to the success of the tour, he was widely acclaimed as the best-selling comedian of 2012. The following year he achieved another masterpiece when he performed in front of 9,000 fans in Johannesburg, South Africa. McIntyre retired from his Michael McIntyre world tour in early 2017. The tour was planned to perform 104 shows on 5 continents in two years.

Wife (Kitty) and Kids

He is married to Kitty Ward since 2003. Kitty is the daughter of the late English actor Simon Ward. Her sister Sophie Ward is also an actress. Together they have two sons, Lucas and Oscar.

The British man comes from a large household. He was born the son of Ray and Kati Cameron. His father Ray Cameron, a Canadian, was also a popular comedian in his day. Through Ray and Kati Michael had another fully biological sibling, a daughter named Lucy. After the divorce of his parents, the comedian gained many more family members. He gained two stepbrothers and stepsisters – Georgina and Billy – from his father’s second union and three more – Nicholas, Thomas, Andre – from his mother’s later union.
