Sharon Rachel Levy was born in Brixton, London, on October 9, 1952, the son of music promoter and rock and roll entrepreneur Don Arden and his wife Hope Arden. Her parents were Jewish, and as such, she became a practicing Jew. She is of Russian-Irish descent and has a sibling, a brother named David.
Sharon did not have a very rosy childhood, because her father Don was a very violent person and did not spare his daughter one bit in his many outbursts of rage. To make matters worse, her mother Hope took a rather indifferent attitude towards her husband’s alcoholism and her daughter’s abuse.
She started her entertainment life by working with her father in his business as owner and manager of Black Sabbath.
