Jenny McCarthy is an American actress, model, comedian, and television personality. When she graduated from college in 1993, Jenny was offered the opportunity to pose for Playboy magazine in the then October issue. She was offered $20,000 for the shoot. She accepted the offer and was named Playmate of the Month in October 1993. The pose had a theme that revolved around her Catholic upbringing and had a schoolgirlish side to it. Jenny received another $100,000 at the end of the year when she was named Playmate of the Year.
McCarthy reveals that the pose was not well received by her Catholic friends. Her immediate family did not take her performance well on a stage celebrating values that were foreign to her upbringing.
McCarthy was able to use her newfound fame to initiate other adventures in her life and moved to Los Angeles to host a Playboy television show. From there she worked with MTV on the dating show Singled Out. She appeared on the platform of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). In 1997 Jenny began hosting her own self-titled show, The Jenny McCarthy Show. She worked with NBC on the second season of Love in the Wild in 2012 and later returned to television with her own show.
In 2013, another appearance was added, hosting The View, a talk show by day. McCarthy has appeared in several films, including Scary Movie 3 and the television series Two and a Half Men.
