The group originally consisted of Kevin Olushola, Avi Kaplan, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, and Scott Hoying.
Sometime in 2017, Avi Kaplan, one of the group’s bass singers, decided to leave the group to focus more on his family, and the hunt for a new member began.
As a result, Matt Sallee was chosen to sing with Pentatonix, a group he had always worshipped as a teenager, and it went quite well.
