Maggie Johnson (Actress) – Facts About Clint Eastwood’s First Wife

Maggie Johnson, born as Margaret Neville Johnson, is an American model/actress who became known to Americans as the first wife of acting ace Clint Eastwood. As the world has learned over the years, Eastwood is a common womanizer. The actor has fathered at least 7 children by about 5 different women. This number is preliminary because Eastwood himself is not even sure how many children he has fathered.

In a 2004 interview, Eastwood was asked how many children he had, and his answer was shocking “I have a few”. His romantic journey with his first wife Maggie Johnson was quite an interesting journey with highlights like cheating, a secret child of love, and even a reunion. 1. At the time Maggie accepted to marry Eastwood, he was allegedly a brand new father.

Before he met Maggie, Eastwood was in a serious relationship with a certain woman in Seattle, according to biographer Patrick McGilligan. This woman was later to become pregnant with his child. But then Maggie came along, and Eastwood had to move on to the next relationship.

2. Maggie was cheated on by Eastwood many times throughout their marriage.

Clint’s libido overwhelmed him in most cases, and his marriage did little or nothing to tame her. Call him the King Solomon of his generation and we would support you fully.

Eastwood’s acting career began in 1955, about two years after his marriage. Since his career required him to be with women constantly, it wasn’t long before Eastwood began an affair with a co-star. It was first with Roxanne Tunis, a stunt woman he met on the set of his hit series Rawhide.

Their affair produced a daughter Kimber, who was born on June 17, 1964. When she was born, her name was Kimber Tunis, a way to keep information away from the media, and it worked. The media remained in the dark about the love child until 1989 when the National Enquirer burst her bubble.

3. Maggie Johnson and Eastwood met on a blind date in Los Angeles.

Eastwood was so into women, he didn’t mind going on a blind date. We’d give anything to know how they were set up in the first place. A dating site is at the top of our suspect list, but we doubt that such things even existed back then.

The blind date took place in June 1952, at a time when Eastwood, who was 22 years old, had not yet begun his Hollywood career and was working for an auto parts supplier. The romance was a whirlwind as it took them only 6 months to find their way to the altar. Maggie announced their engagement in October 1953, and the wedding took place in Pasenda on December 19, 1953.

4. Maggie separated from Eastwood twice before their divorce was finalized.

It seemed that Eastwood and Tunis were unable to keep the news of their illegitimate child from Johnson, who was separated from Eastwood at about the same time Kimber was born. To rub more salt into the wound, Maggie was struggling with hepatitis at the time. The separation took place without legal action, yet Eastwood continued with his promiscuity.

By the late 1960s, Maggie had reconciled with Eastwood, after which they had two children together, including jazz bass musician Kyle Eastwood, born May 19, 1968, and model and actress Alison Eastwood, born May 22, 1972. Their reconciliation did not mean that Eastwood stopped cheating, however. His later affairs forced Johnson to seek legal separation from him in 1978.

After their legal separation, it took them 6 years to reach an agreement for their divorce. It is reported that Maggie received between 25 and 30 million dollars in divorce settlements.

While it took Eastwood years to find another woman to call his wife, this was not the case with Johnson, who married Henry Wynberg in 1985. Their marriage lasted four years when they separated in 1989. Since then, things have become very quiet around Johnson, and the media do not know what is going on in their lives. She was seen on the red carpet at the premiere of Eastwood’s biographical drama Invictus in 2009.
