Keyshia Myesha Cole, born October 15, 1981, in Oakland, California, was raised by her family friends Leon and Yvonne Cole, who gave her Cole as her last name. She was adopted by the family after her mother, who suffered from drug problems, could not help but give her up.
As a young growing girl, Cole started singing after meeting MC Hammer and Tupac Shakur, who was to help her start her music career before his life was shortened.

When she was 18 years old, she moved to Los Angeles where she released her first album, The Way It Is, in 2005. After only 17 weeks it was awarded gold and eight weeks later platinum. Her next album, Just Like You (2007) also saw massive sales, while the next A Different Me was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B at the 2008 Grammys.
Her next albums are Calling All Hearts (2010) and Point of No Return (2014). She has begun work on her seventh album 11:11 Reset, of which she has already released several singles.

She did not meet her father until 2016 when a paternity test confirmed that Virgil Hunter was her father. Before she found out who her father was, the singer of Heaven Sent believed that she was of mixed race and her father was Italian, based on what her mother had told her. In fact, she said that she didn’t feel comfortable performing at Black Girls Rock in 2012 because she firmly believed that she was of mixed race.
As for her relationships, Keyshia Cole has dated a number of men in the past. In 2009 she started dating former NBA star, Daniel Gibson. The two got engaged less than a year later in 2010 and married in 2011.
Unfortunately for the singer of I Just Want It To Be Over, the marriage did not last, as the two went separate ways in 2014. However, it took until 2017 for their divorce to be finalized.
Daniel Gibson and Keyshia Cole have a son, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr., who was born in 2010 before his parents married. The singer recently announced through her Instagram that she is pregnant with her second child. Although she has not announced who is the father of her unborn child, she was in a relationship with Niko Khale, who is 14 years younger than her.
