JT Barrett was born on January 23, 1995, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Joe Barrett and Stacy Barrett. Like his brothers, Stephen and Xavier, he has done well in their respective careers.
Joe Barrett was educated at S. H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he competed in soccer, basketball, and athletics. In soccer, he played as a quarterback with a double threat, which he mastered and met the expectations of his high school team every time he was fielded. In Raiders, JT Barrett recorded a total of 2,069 rushing yards, passing for over 2,348, scoring 30 touchdowns. His junior season had a far better statistic than his senior season due to the fact that Joe suffered a ruptured ACL injury that terminated his senior season prematurely.
However, he did not recover in time to play for his high school team. He was later accepted into Ohio State University and, after his recovery, he joined the college soccer team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, in April 2012.
When he teamed up with his teammates from the Ohio State Buckeyes football team, he sustained another injury. This time he broke his ankle during a game between the University of Michigan Wolverines and his Buckeyes team. After the injury, JT Barrett was incapacitated for the remainder of the 2014 season, and after successful surgery, he was rehabilitated in the 2015 season. After his recovery, he was back on the starting line for the 2016 and 2017 seasons with a total of 3,851 Rush Yards, 9,434 Passing Yards, 104 Passing Touchdowns with 43 Rush Touchdowns.

NFL Career
Upon entering the 2018 NFL Draft, JT Barrett left the draft as an undeveloped free agent, then had the opportunity to visit the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints rookie mini-camps. He decided to participate later, whereupon they signed him a three-year contract worth $1,710,000.

However, before she called, JT had also called 911 to report that he had asked his girlfriend to leave his house, but she did not want to.
