Jennifer Aniston is obviously one of the most persecuted Hollywood stars. Since she won many hearts with her portrayal of Rachel Green in the NBC hit sitcom Friends, she has remained a darling to many. With the success of her subsequent films from Bruce Almighty to Marley & Me – both box office hits – she gained even more recognition.
In addition to her successful career, Jennifer Aniston’s popularity increased due to her romance with another beloved Hollywood star, Brad Pitt. Her relationship and subsequent marriage were widely publicized in the media and were considered an incredible success. But soon the duo sent hearts throughout the nation that broke when news of their separation hit the news. The claim that their separation was caused by Angelina Jolie would perhaps remain a controversial topic that would be picked up again and again as long as Hollywood lives.
Well, before Pitt came into Aniston’s life, there were other men, but none came as close to him as Pitt. Follow us straight through as we guide you through Jennifer Aniston’s dating history.
Jennifer Aniston Dating Timeline
Adam Duritz – 1995
This is one of the first relations of Aniston to attract media attention. At a time when her career had gained momentum thanks to Friends, Jenny was seen a few times with the dreaded Adam Duritz, lead singer of the rock band Counting Crows. The relationship seemed to have ended right after she started.
Tate Donovan 1995 – 1998
Aniston’s relationship with Tate Donovan was widely regarded as her first real relationship (no offense to Mr. Duritz). Donovan had broken off his engagement to Sandra Bullock so the world thought Aniston would step right into his life and fix everything that had broken. It looked good until it didn’t work anymore. They had a couple of red-carpet appearances and soon got engaged. But like Donovan’s immediate relationship in the past, the engagement was short-lived as they soon broke things off again. That was in 1998 and Donovan’s guest in Friends as Aniston played the role of Aniston, Green’s love interest. In any case, Donovan survived the engagement phase in 2005 when Corinne Kingsbury walked down the aisle with him. Unfortunately, they did not last more than three years.
Jennifer Aniston and Ex-Husband Brad Pitt (1998 – 2005)
Aniston tried to get over what she thought was going to take forever and met with a certain Paul Rudd, but it only prepared her for the arrival of Mr. Right (at least we all thought it was him at the time). Aniston and Pitt were actually brought together by their agents. According to some sources, it was a blind date, and the way things turned out, they must have been grateful to their matchmaker(s) (we could throw in a few dollars for a name).
Brad and Jen tried to keep a low profile, but they could only escape the media’s ever-present eyes for a while. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Emmys in September 1999, and two months after that surprise performance, Jenny was seen rocking solid rock at a Sting concert. And then the big wedding in July 2000, which produced several lists of the most expensive celebrity weddings.
After the wedding, their flame continued to burn and Brad even had a guest appearance at Friends – what more can you ask of a power couple? They announced their plans to start making babies in February 2004, but before they could get involved, Lady Jolie appeared on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, who was one half of the title character and Pitt the other half. The flame between Jen and Pitt starts to go out from then on. Pitt has since denied all allegations of fraud.
The new year 2005 began with the sad news of the separation of Brad and Jen, which ended their 7-year relationship, and with a second woman in the picture, the world did not take it lightly – well part of the world. Team Aniston and Team Jolie showed up… remember those t-shirts? Of course, Brad would still date Angelina Jolie. The fans of the movie loved her though, and we can’t deny that Brangelina looked so perfect together. Too bad it had to be at the emotional expense of another lover. As we all know, Brangelina ended things in September 2016, after two years of official marriage.
Justin Theroux (2011 – 2018)
Justin Theroux was the next big thing that happened to Jennifer Aniston. But before Theroux showed up, she had exhausted Vince Vaughn (2005 – 2006), who was her co-star on The Break-Up, and singer John Mayer in 2008. Jennifer and Justin met on the set of the movie Wanderlust 2011 for the second time after their first meeting on the set in 2007, starting with the actor and screenwriter almost immediately after their second encounter.
After a 15-month whirlwind romance, they were engaged in 2012 and married in August 2015. Sadly, their paths split in February 2018. Rumors surfaced that while she was married to Justin, Jen kept love letters from her time with Brad. This triggered further rumors that Jennifer and Brad might get back together. If this ever happened, it would be a shock greater than that of their respective divorces combined.
