Brandin Cooks Bio, Age

Brandin Cooks, born as Brandin Tawan Cooks, has the same birthday with all cooks born on September 25th, more precisely with those born in 1993. His first cry as a baby was heard in Stockton, California, and it was a joy for Andrea and Worth Cooks, his parents, to welcome their new bundle of joy into their family. Like his siblings, Brandin has Fred, Worth Jr., and Andre, who are all boys. Sadly, he lost his father at the age of about 6 years, who never recovered from a heart attack in 1999. Life went on for the Cook brothers nevertheless, as their mother raised them.

Immediately after high school, Brandin committed to a college football career from 2011 to 2013, playing for the Oregon Beavers football team at Oregon State University. In his first season, he made the leap to the starting line-up and played both as a wide receiver and kick return. In his second season, Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton formed one of the most impressive receiver duos in the Beavers’ history, with a total of 158 receptions in 2,395 yards and 16 touchdowns in the 2012 season alone.

In total Brandin played 38 games with 3,272 receiving yards, 24 receiving touchdowns, 340 rush yards, and 2 rush touchdowns. On January 2, 2014, he announced his decision to give up his college season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft instead.

NFL Career

In the very first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, as the 20th overall selection, the New Orleans Saints signed a four-year contract with Brandin Cooks on May 18, 2014, valued at $8.3 million. Moving up into the professional league, which is no easy task, was no reason for Cooks to deliver a less than impressive performance, and for this reason, he started off very well in his first professional debut against the Atlanta Falcons, even though his team eventually lost the game.

In the 2015 and 2016 seasons, the Beavers’ former playmaker played beyond expectations, leading his team in all categories in the 2015 season, and in 2016 had a 10.0-yard goal that put him in sixth place among the league’s wide receivers. In total, Brandin Cook played 42 games with the Saints, with 2,861 receive yards, 20 receive touchdowns, 121 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown.

The New England Patriots made a swap with Brandin Cooks on March 10, 2017, taking the fifth option on his rookie contract. He completed a total of 16 games, with the Patriots posting 1,082 receiving yards with 7 touchdowns and 40 rushing touchdowns before leaving the team.

Again, Cook joined his third NFL team in much the same way he had joined his second team. The Los Angeles Rams made a deal with the Patriots in exchange for a choice in the designs. Brandin Cooks joined the Mob Squad team and signed a five-year contract with them worth $81 million with a $20.5 million guarantee.
