Anthony Kiedis’ Career
Kiedis is the founder of the rock band “Red Hot Chili Peppers”, which was founded in 1983. He first formed the band with his friends Hillel Slovak, Micheal Balzore, also known as Flea, and Jack Irons, although they already played in various bands. The group later underwent a line-up change when Slovak and Irons left the band and returned to their other band when they landed a record deal. Kiedis and Flea did not give up on their dream, so they brought in a guitarist, Jack Sherman, and a drummer, Cliff Martinez. The group eventually became known as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The group’s first debut album was christened “Red Hot Chili Peppers” after their name. The album was released in August 1984 by EMI Records. Many people began to follow the band, although they didn’t make much money from album sales.
Their second album entitled “Freaky Styles” was released a year after the first one, and this time Slovak and Irons returned to the band after Sherman and Martinez were fired. The second album did not sell well either.

Kiedis and Flea added guitarist Blackbyrd McKnight and drummer D.H. Peligro to the group, but when the addition didn’t seem to work, they recoiled and went a different way, adding guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith, with whom they recorded “Mothers Milk”. This was the magic as they began to attract more fans and more media attention.
Their fifth album “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” was the one that brought Anthony Kiedis and Chili Peppers fame.
