Willam, as he is simply called, is a world-famous American drag queen, actor, producer, TV personality, recording artist, vlogger, and author. He is an all-round showbiz man, known for his role as transgendered woman Cherry Peck in Ryan Murphy’s medical television series Nip/Tuck and more recently as a contestant in RuPaul’s Drag Race. Willam Belli is also notorious as the first and only candidate ever to be disqualified from RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Despite his disqualification, William is one of the most successful competitors in RuPaul’s Drag Race. The publicity he received through his disqualification gave his showbiz career a huge boost. He currently has over 800,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. At the NewNowNext Awards 2012, he was nominated for the “Most Addictive Reality Star”.
His first book, Suck Less: Where There’s a Willam, There’s a Way, was published in October 2016. His most recent projects include the weekly half-hour talk show Suck Less. The drag queen received a lot of backlash on social media after he made seemingly transphobic comments about an episode of the show, in which he dealt with another drag queen Courtney act.
William Belli’s Bio, Age
Willam Belli is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on 30 June 1982 as the youngest of two children. According to the Drag Queen herself, he was named “Willam” after his Yugoslavian grandfather, and his last name Belli is the Italian word for “beautiful men”. He had his middle and high school education in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
He made his first acting achievement in two episodes of the crime series Der Bezirk, after that he appeared in further TV series in the 2000s. Willam Belli can look back on a number of feature films, including American Wedding, Because I Said So, Tower Heist, Cinema Verite, and the 2011 horror film BloodRayne: The Third Reich.
He was contacted by the reality TV show’s production company to audition for RuPaul’s Drag Race. In November 2011 he was announced as one of 13 candidates for the 4th season of the show. He was later disqualified for violating some of the show’s rules. In some circles, it is believed that Willam deliberately broke these rules so that he could leave the show and fulfill a previously booked off-Broadway engagement.
As a recording artist, William has been part of two music groups, including “Tranzkuntinental” and the L.A.-Drag Queen Pop Trio DWV. On “Tranzkuntinental” William could be heard alongside other drag queens such as Kelly Mantle, Rhea Litré, and Vicky Vox. William announced his departure from the group in April 2013 to concentrate on DWV.
As a member of the DWV group, William found viral success with the music video parodies “Chow Down” and “Boy Is a Bottom”. He also appeared as a background dancer in the video for Rihanna’s 2011 single “S&M” together with Drag Queens Detox and Morgan McMichaels. However, DWV disbanded in 2014 due to personal conflicts between the band members.
After DWV, Willam continued as a solo artist and released three studio albums: The Wreckoning, Shartistry in Motion, and Access All Areas. He has also teamed up with his colleagues Drag Race stars Alaska and Courtney Act to form a collaboration known as American Apparel Girls. The fierce trio has released a number of singles, including “American Apparel Ad Girls” and “Dear Santa, Bring me a Man”. The very outspoken drag queen is currently 35 years old, just a few months before his 36th birthday.
Willam Belli’s Husband
Willam Belli is married to a man named Bruce. According to the controversial drag queen, they have been together for over 10 years and got married in 2012 in California. Willam’s husband is a lawyer and software developer.
Willam’s husband is also the reason why the drag queen was disqualified from the 4th season of RuPaul’s drag race. Belli has admitted that he received conjugal visits from his husband, which is against the rules of the show, and that was the reason why he was disqualified. This disqualification is probably the best thing that has happened to Willam’s showbiz career.
The drag queen has amassed a sizable fortune. His net worth is currently estimated at $1 million. A versatile entertainer, Willam has several sources of income.
Besides his quite successful acting career, the Drag Queen also went on tour with his now-disbanded music group DWV. He also has some really juicy sponsorship deals with American Apparel, Sephora, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, and Magnum Ice Cream. His YouTube channel is doing pretty well with about 800,000 subscribers and it’s growing.
Height and Body Measurements
For a man who stands on 6 inches stilettos most of the time, many are curious about how tall he really is. Well, without those stilettos, Willam Bell is just 5 ft 10″ in height, not too bad.
His body measurements including his bust, waist size, and hip size are currently not available.
