Rick Fox is one of the multi-talented show business people. He is a television and film actor who has been on the big screen for over a decade. He is also a retired basketball player who played for the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. Brief History
Rick Fox (real name Ulrich Alexander) is a Canadian-Bahamian citizen born in Toronto, Canada, on July 24, 1969. He is a former NBA player, actor, businessman, and entrepreneur. At a very young age, he moved with his family to the Bahamas, his father’s home country. There he attended Kingsway Academy High School in Nassau. During his school years, he developed an interest in sports. So he joined the school’s basketball team “The Saints” where he refined his skills.
In Warsaw, Indiana, Fox also played high school basketball and it was predicted that he would have a very impressive graduation season in just two years. In 1986, however, he had problems with his eligibility when the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) ruled on his case and determined that his eligibility as a high school student had expired (due to the completion of eight semesters between the Bahamas and Indiana). As a result, he was blacklisted by other IHSAA games. Despite the setback of not playing in his last season, he was elected to the Indiana All-Star Team in 1987.
The peak of his early career came when he later played for the University of North Carolina, where he led the Tar Heels to the NCAA finals in 1991.

Venture Into Acting
Fox earned a degree in radio, television, and film studies at the University of North Carolina. In 1994 he was given a role in a movie called Blue Chips, in which he played as a member of the Texas West Basketball team. He later played alongside actress Whoopi Goldberg in the 1996 movie Eddie, in which he played the role of a sinking basketball player who gets help from a fan. In 1998, he starred as a womanizer in He Got Game, a film directed by Spike Lee.
His big acting breakthrough came in late 1997, when he got his biggest role as a prison inmate, Jackson Vahue in the HBO prison drama Oz. He played a very successful basketball player who was arrested on sexual assault charges. The series aired between 1997-2003, with Fox appearing in 11 episodes. To date, he has appeared in many prominent series and films, which has increased his popularity and fan base.

The sports gene definitely runs through Rick’s family, as his mother Dianne Gerace was an athlete who started as an Olympic high jumper and pentathlete. She is Canadian of Italian and Scottish descent, while Rick’s father, Ulrich Fox, is of Bahamian descent.
He has an only sister called Jeanene, who is quite famous herself. She is a model and actress currently living in the USA. She was only 15 years old when she started a career as a model. A series of successful catwalk appearances in Europe and Canada made it easy for her to move to the USA, where she signed up with the Elite Model Management agency in Los Angeles.
In terms of acting roles, she has starred in a number of US television series and films, including Ugly Betty and Big Momma’s House 2.

Rick Fox Family – Wife, and Kids
So far, Rick Fox has only been married once. Although he has been in previous relationships, he has not made a life-long commitment to any of the ladies he has dated. His relationship with the popular actress/singer Vanessa William, however, went all the way to the altar. After being together for months, they decided to marry for the first time together in the Caribbean in summer 1999. After the stint, the couple returned to the United States, where they held another wedding ceremony open to their friends and family. This ceremony took place in New York City in September 1999. The following year they had a beautiful daughter in May 2000.
Unfortunately, their relationship did not last long, as Fox filed for divorce from Williams in August 2004. Nevertheless, their separation was amicably carried out, so that they were able to work together in the TV show Ugly Betty a few years later.

It is an open secret that Fox has dated many women in the past. The very first we heard about is his relationship with Kari Hillsman, a woman he met when he played for the Boston Celtics. They had a son Kyle in 1993.
In 2007 he began a relationship with Eliza Dushku, a breakout star popularly known for her role as Faith in the spin-off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel. At first, they couldn’t get enough of each other. They were seen together at events, basketball games, and even in interviews conducted by Fox. Nonetheless, their relationship ended in 2014, just like his previous ones. So far, he has not confirmed any serious relationship he is in.
