Kate is a Swiss-American actress born on September 10, 1957, in Geneva, Switzerland. She comes from a well-known family in the film industry, as her father Richard Burton was a famous actor, while her mother Sybil Burton was a famous film producer.
She studied at Brown University, where she graduated in Russian and European Studies in 1979. The actress later earned her Masters’ degree from Yale School of Drama in 1982, and in 2007 she was given another feather in her cap when Brown University awarded her an honorary doctorate.

Kate Burton began her acting career with stage appearances, and her first notable role was in the play Present Laughter, directed by George Scott.
