The lab rat actor was born on December 28, 1997, in New York City, New York, as Emery Mikeal Thomas Kelly. Details about his family such as the names of his parents are not fully known, but his father is a firefighter and he has a sister, Veronica, whom he introduced in a sibling tag video on YouTube. He is an accomplished sportsman and an avid gamer and excels at skateboarding and windsurfing.

Emery began his path to fame in 2013 when he was a contestant in the third season of the reality contest series The X Factor. Although he didn’t make it to the finals as he was eliminated during the boot camp round of the competition, his stay was extended when one of the judges, Simon Cowell, asked him to stay on the show. He formed the group “Forever in Your Mind” together with the other two competitors Ricky Garcia and Jon Klaasen.
