Bryn Forbes Biography

Bryn Forbes was born on July 23, 1993, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born the son of American parents Brandon Forbes and his wife Sue Forbes. Bryn began playing basketball at a very young age and then attended J. W. Sexton High School, where he started his amateur career.

Playing alongside Anthony Clemmons and Denzel Valentine, Bryn led the Sexton team that won state titles in his youth and senior years. He achieved an average of 13.6 points per game and helped the team set a 26-2 record in the junior class. As a senior national player, he also scored 5 rebounds and 19 points per game. At the end of his high school career, Bryn was selected by Lansing State Journal to play for both the Lansing State Journal team and the Class B All-State Team.

During his college career, Bryn Forbes enrolled at Cleveland State University, where he played two seasons before transferring to Michigan State University for the remaining two years of his college career. In his rookie year, the amazing Shooting Guard averaged 3.5 rebounds and 12.7 points while playing 32 performances for the Vikings. In the end, he was honored with the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year Award and the selection of the Horizon All-Newcomer Team.

As a sophomore, Bryn finished fourth in the three-point shootout, averaging 3.1 rebounds and 15.6 points per game. After his impressive performance, Bryn was selected as the second team of All-Horizon and the All-District Team of NABC. In search of a more competitive environment, Bryn joined the Michigan State Spartans in 2014 for the rest of his college career.

At the Spartans, Bryn saw a massive improvement in his game, averaging 8.5 rebounds and 24 points in the 2014/15 season. In his last season, he became one of the top three-point scorers in the country with a 50% field goal percentage. Bryn averaged 2.1 rebounds and 14.4 points per game, while coaches and media named him the second team in the All-Big Ten. He was also named a PIT All-Tournament Team and the first team in the USBWA All-District.

NBA Career

Because Bryn Forbes did not reach the average height for NBA shooters, he lost out of the 2016 NBA draft. After the draft, the guard joined the San Antonio Spurs for the 2016 Summer League, where he showed an impressive performance, scoring 77 out of 100 three points. He was then recruited by the Spurs and on July 14, 2016, he received his contract as a rookie. As a rookie, Bryn Forbes shared his time between the Spurs and their G-League subsidiary Austin Spurs. He played a total of 36 games for the Spurs with an average of 2.6 points per game.

In the 2017/18 season, Bryn was voted into the second team in the All-NBA Summer League after a wonderful performance for the Spurs. The guard ended the season as a substitute in 80 games, averaging 1.6 rebounds and 6.9 points per game. In July 2018, Bryn received a contract extension at the Spurs.

Just like we said Bryn was born as the son of black American sire Brandon Forbes and his wife Sue Forbes. There is not much information about his parents. It is already known that they were both born in Michigan and it is not known if he has any other siblings or not.
