The star of the modern family was born by Crystal and Glenn Workman on January 28, 1998, in the city of Los Angeles, California. Contrary to what one might have expected, the actress and her mother Crystal have a tense relationship with each other. The mother tried to take advantage of her status as an actress by letting her do things that girls her age can only dream about. According to Ariel, she was sexualized at the tender age of 7 and was forced to dress indecently, which made her look and act older than her age. She claimed that her mother did not bat an eyelid before giving her consent to a nude scene.
The situation became so bad that her older sister, who was already an adult, applied for guardianship in October 2012. In her report, her sister Shanelle Workman claimed that her mother had become a source of physical and emotional abuse for young Ariel. Although the case continued for some time, Shanelle was able to obtain guardianship for Ariel on 5 May 2014, permanently separating Ariel from the presence of her mother.
