Tim is a graduate of the California Institute of Arts. He began his career at the Walt Disney Studio, where he took on a job as an apprentice animator, setting the pace for an incredible career of multi-talented talent. The movie became a huge success and gave him the chance to shoot more successful movies like Batman, which became one of the biggest box office hits of all time. In the 1990s, he made the film Edward Scissorhands, a film that was rated by most people as his best shoot among the others.

Batman brought him so much attention that he designed the sequel Batman Returns, which was broadcast in 1992 and received the same positive ratings as Batman Returns. The next film from the Batman franchise, Batman Forever, was produced in 1994 under the direction of Joel Schumacher. It became a blockbuster hit that brought in more than 336 million dollars at the box office.
Other films he made in the 1990s were James and the Giant Peach, Sleepy Hollow, Superman lives, Mars attacks, Cabin Boy and Ed Wood. In the 2000s he started his next projects, Planets of the Apes and Big Fish. The latter was based on the novel Großer Fisch. The film was a success and received four Golden Globe nominations and one Oscar nomination.
