For most people, there were only two categories of players in the National Football League: those who would be remembered long after they retired, and those who are destined to fight throughout their careers against slipping into oblivion but ultimately accept the inevitable. Tarik Cohen has yet to reach the heights that would earn him a place in the first group of players, but he has definitely shown that he would not go down as one of the latter.

This ‘running back’ player had an incredible college career that earned him the attention of prominent teams when he wanted to join the National Football League (NFL). If you look at his records, you’ll find that teams like the Denver Broncos, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Green Bay Packers, and the New York Jets were just a few of those who showed interest in him.

Eventually, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears during the NFL Draft as the 119th overall candidate in the fourth round by the Chicago Bears. Since then he has proven his worth with the Bears. In the 2017 season, he was, among other things, the only NFL rookie in recent history to score touchdowns in a single season, not only through passes and punt-returns but also through grass and reception. The last time a player (Gale Sayers) managed this feat was in 1965.

He accepted the offer from North Carolina A&T, became a member of the Aggies football team, and immediately won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year award. This was just the beginning as he received other prestigious awards.

From 2013 to 2015, he was successively listed on the All-MEAC First Team and from 2014 to 2016 he was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Year.
