Staci Keanan’s Biography
Anastasia Love Sagorsky, who chose the stage name Staci Keanan, was born on June 6, 1975, in Devon, Pennsylvania, the son of car salesman Irv Sagorsky and his wife Jacqueline Sagorsky.
Keanan was a bright child and showed great interest in the arts at an early age. At the age of five, she was already modeling and appeared in print, radio, and television commercials and advertisements. She appeared in the television commercials for Hershey’s Kisses and Burger King.
Later she moved to New York City with her mother and sister to further her career. As in NYC, she changed her name to Staci Love and began performing with the Summer Stock Theater. Her first television appearance was when she appeared in the American television miniseries I’ll Take Manhattan in 1987.
Shortly after her appearance in I’ll Take Manhattan, she was cast as Nicole Bradford in the TV sitcom series My Two Dads, which was broadcast on NBC from September 1987 to April 1990. Between 1990 and 1991 she also appeared in the short-lived series Going Places alongside Hallie Todd, Alan Ruck, and Heather Locklear.
Between 1991 and 1998, Keanan played Dana Foster in the television series Step by Step. During this time she also changed her name from Staci to Stacy. After she starred in Step by Step, she left the spotlight and disappeared into thin air, only to reappear after more than a decade: Where did she go, what happened to her? Find out soon…
What Happened To Her?
There are several explanations for why the former child actress left the limelight. Some say her disappearance should help her shake off the childhood stereotypes that often plague young actors who started their careers as children.
However, this turned out to be pure speculation, as her disappearance from the screen was only a decision she had made to make a career in the legal profession possible.
According to her fellow actor in Step-by-Step, Patrick Duffy, he once wrote a recommendation for her admission to law school. Although we are not sure what kind of law she studied or practiced, we are sure that Staci actually went to law school to get a law degree and that she now works as a lawyer in Los Angeles under the name Anastasia Sagorsky,
Staci Keanan hasn’t given up her love for acting and the screen completely as she still accepts some gigs from time to time. She appeared in the short film Stolen Poem in 2004, then in the films Hidden Secrets, Holyman Undercover, and Death and Cremation in 2006 and 2010.
Also in 2010, she starred in a cameo in You Again together with some of her Step By Step colleagues. She also played the lead in the film Sarah’s Choice.
It is also worth mentioning that while she was out of the spotlight, Staci married actor and film producer Guy Birtwhistle, so you wouldn’t be wrong to add Birtwhistle to her last name.
The couple tied the knot on February 11, 2017, and what we are not sure about is whether they still have a child(ren) of their own.
