He is an American citizen born to father Rudy Gay Sr. and mother Rea Gay, although he prefers the name Rudy Gay, his full birth name is Rudy Carlton Gay Jr. The baller comes from a family of seven with three sisters – Yozimin, Brett, and Candice Gay – and also has a brother named Eric Gay.

The basketball player’s high school education goes back to the Eastern Technical High School, located in Essex, Maryland. However, he did not complete his education there but had to move to Severn, Maryland, where he joined Archbishop Spalding and stayed until graduation. Rudy’s honors at this early stage include Parade of the first All-American team, Washington Post All-American, and McDonald’s All-American.

When we talk about his college education, Rudy Gay had two controversial choices – either to attend the University of Maryland or to choose the University of Connecticut.
