One of the actors who developed in the Hollywood film industry is Mark Ruffalo, who has developed from roles in smaller films to a producer and screenwriter. The actor, like many successful names in the industry, did not have it easy at first, but with his brilliant performance in low-key films such as The Dentist in 1996, the little-noticed crime comedy Safe Men and Ride with the Devil, he was able to develop his acting skills.

He also appeared in 1996 in This is Our Youth, which later earned him a role in the film You Can Count On Me, for which he won awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the Montreal World Film Festival, as well as great acclaim. As his influence in the film industry grew, Ruffalo gained major roles in films such as XX/XY, My Life Without Me, In the Cut, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and the fusion of two short stories by Andre Dubus entitled We Don’t Live Here Anymore.

In 2012, the actor became known for his exceptional performance of Dr. Bruce Banner, popularly known as the Hulk, in the film The Avengers as a replacement for actor Edward Norton, whereupon he received a contract to play the role again in a future production of the series by Marvel Studios. He also had a small role as Banner in the popular movie Iron Man 3, making him the first person to retake Banner in an action movie. He played the role again in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: Ragnarök, which was released in 2017. The actor was also booked to play the role again in the films Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled sequel in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
