Today Lauren Riihimaki is known for being a YouTube personality. She owns the popular YouTube channel for fashion advice LaurDIY, a platform she founded in 2011 while still a student.
She explained that while she was still a student, she knew she had the talent to teach others about fashion and also give fashion tips, but that she needed a platform to communicate with her audience. So she researched Google to find out how to create a website that led her to WordPress. Through WordPress, she created her first blog called Desire and Inspire, where she published photos of different steps to guide her readers through her fashion guide.
Lauren Riihimaki needed to illustrate these tips and guides in more practical and efficient videos, which led her to set up a channel on YouTube. Her original goal was to create the videos and upload them to YouTube before they were uploaded to her blog, but she was shocked to the core by the number of hits and the number of subscribers that her videos and channel reached.
