As a teenager, Joss Stone literally came out of nowhere to take the entertainment industry by storm. The British soul singer grew up with many music genres, but she preferred R&B, soul, blue-eyed soul, and reggae. The performance of a cover version of the 1970s hit by disco queen Donna Summer entitled “On the Radio” earned her the first record deal she ever had.
Currently, the singer, actress, and songwriter have several full-length albums and several singles that have made it into the Top 20. Her success in the entertainment industry has earned her a well-deserved reference to Aretha Franklin, a legend in the field who is considered one of the best rhythm and blues singers of all time. Her debut album, The Soul Sessions, which went platinum several times, brought Joss Stone fame, and her next album, Mind, Body & Soul, which also went platinum several times, topped the British album charts. Joss achieved RIAA gold status with her latest album, Introducing Joss Stone.
