Joss Stone Bio

The multi-talented entertainer was born on April 11, 1987, as Joscelyn Eve Stoker in Dover, Kent, England. She was the third child of Richard Stoker (father), who owns and runs a fruit and nut store, and Wendy Skillin (mother), who worked as her manager for several years. The English songbird grew up in Devon alongside her three siblings Harry, Daniel, and Lucy.

Joss Stone attended Uffculme Comprehensive School in Uffculme, Devon, where she made her first public appearance with a cover version of Reet Petite, Jackie Wilson’s song from 1957. Unfortunately, she had to drop out of school with only three GCSE qualifications at the age of sixteen due to dyslexia.
