He began his schooling with peers at Jacksonville High School, and after high school, he was found at his family’s ranch in Jacksonville, Texas. Josh Mccown grew fast because, by the time he was 16 years old, he was already 6 feet tall. His rapid growth supported his football career when he started shooting in the second half of his junior year. At the same time, he also played basketball, earning him a place on the second team in the multiple districts as a shooting guard in his senior year.

Since 1998, when he was admitted to history school, Josh Mccown began his college football career and played for Southern Methodist University’s SMU Mustangs until 2000. In his three seasons with the Mustangs, he set impressive records, some of which were the highest in SMU history at the time.

In his final year, Josh transferred to Sam Houston State University, where he played for the Sam Houston State Bearkats. With this new team, he beat his cumulative three-year record at SMU in his first season. As you would expect, the Sam Houston State Bearkats ended the season with a record 10-3 win, making them co-champions of the Southland Football League with McNeese State. Josh Mccnow was named SFL Player of the Year, received the First Team All-SFL award in 2001, and was honored by The Sports Network in the third team Division I-AA All-American.

Josh Mccown was called up by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft as the 81st overall selection and was the fourth quarterback selected in the draft. He played for the Cardinals from 2002 to 2005, when he left the Cardinals. In March 2006, he played for the Detroit Lions, where he signed a two-year, $6 million contract. At the end of the 2006 season, he asked to be traded, as he did not often play in the quarterback position he prefers. From the Lions, he joined the Oakland Raiders on April 28, 2007.

Treadwell played for the Raiders for the rest of 2007, and on February 29, 2008, he signed a $6.25 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. He played with them until August 29, 2008, when the Carolina Panthers brought him home to their side.
