It is a rarity to encounter an individual who is a true multi-talent in every respect, but in Jack Wagner, we find that such an individual really exists. Jack Wagner is gifted in acting, sports, and singing and has managed over the years to captivate our imagination with his incredible variety of talents. His personal life story is by no means boring either.
Jack Wagner’s Bio (Age)
Jack Wagner was born on October 3, 1959, in Washington, Missouri. His father, Peter Wagner, was a car salesman and his mother, Scotty Wagner, was a housewife. His birth name is Peter John Wagner. At a very young age, Wagner showed great athletic ability, showed great promise in golf, and was eventually taken from the Missouri Junior Championship when he reached high school.
He grew up as part of a Catholic background. Wagner attended the parish school of St. Gertrude but was later transferred to St. Francis Borgia Regional High School. During his time in St. Gertrude, he was mainly involved in the theater, as he performed in several plays, but in St. Francis, the sport was his main attraction. When he graduated from high school, Wagner continued his acting studies at the University of Missouri.
His time in Missouri was short-lived as he left after one year to receive a sports scholarship at the University of Arizona. During his time at the university, he did not manage to make the cut despite his best performances. Later, however, he attended an audition for the university’s drama department, whereupon he received $3,000. Later he graduated in 1982 with a degree in theater studies.
When he finished college, he went to Los Angeles to build a career. Not long after his arrival, he got his first role in Clint Masterson’s soap A New Day in Eden. Unfortunately, however, the series proved to be short-lived and Wagner was on the screen for a year without any commitments. Wagner had his big breakthrough in 1983 when he got the role of Frisco Jones in the popular soap opera General Hospital. The role of Frisco Jones seemed to fall into Wagner’s hands because the character was supposed to be a rock musician, which meant scenes with a guitar, and Wagner had always had a talent for music from a very young age.
In the show, Wagner could perform his first hit “All I Need”, which proved to be a success. Soon he met the legendary producer Quincy Jones, who helped him to record his first album. Wagner also gained recognition for his role in the soap with a nomination for the Daytime Emmy Award for “Best Young Actor” in 1985. His career in music did not slow down in the following years as he recorded five more albums.
Wagner met Kristina Malandro on the set of the daily soap “General Hospital”. Kristina’s character, Felicia Cummings, was a love object for Frisco Jones. Jack and Kristina married in 1993. Their marriage was blessed with two boys, Peter Wagner, born in 1990, and Harrison Wagner, born in 1994. However, the couple had a troubled time together with marital problems and decided to file for divorce in 2006.
After his marriage to Kristina ended, Wagner began dating Heather Locklear in 2007. The two got engaged in August 2011, but broke off their engagement a few months later, in November of the same year.
In 1988 Wagner had a one-night stand with a woman and probably thought that was it – a simple fling. Later, he was called by the same woman who told him that she had given birth to his daughter. She felt unable to care for the child, so she made the difficult decision to give the baby up for adoption. Jack tried to get his child back, but he couldn’t.
However, his daughter Kerry hired the services of a private investigator to find her father, and the two were finally reunited for the first time in 2011 at an event in Florida.
The versatility of Jack Wagner gives him various sources of income. Jack plays golf actively and is known as the only non-professional sportsman to have won the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic. Jack has a celebrity golf event that raised over $600,000 in the first two years to help fund cancer research. His net worth is estimated at $9.8 million.
