For his education, he graduated from Monsignor Edward Pace High School, to which he transferred after starting at Hialeah High School. During his school days, he played a great show and as such, he skipped college for professional baseball and was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2004 MLB Draft.
Career and Stats
Soon after he was selected by the White Sox, Gio Gonzalez was traded alongside two others for Jim Thome at the Philadelphia Phillies. This won’t take as long as next year, the White Sox would get him back through a trade.
He played in the Minor League until he was called up to the Major League in 2008 to play for the Oakland Athletics, who got him back from the White Sox through a trade. Gio remained on the team until 2012 when he was traded to the Washington Nationals in 2012.

As there is no wedding date yet, Gonzalez and Berenice are referred to as husband and wife, although some say they may have had a secret wedding. The marriage has two children. The name of the first, born in 2016, is Enzo, while the name of the second is not known.
Before he met and settled down with his wife, there was a rumor that the pitcher was said to have a relationship with American footballer Angela Rypien.
