After appearing in a series of commercials, Jason Priestley was cast in the 1978 TV movie Stacey, in which he played the character of Duncan. He then landed a guest role in the series 21 Jump Street before he got his groundbreaking role as Brandon Walsh in Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1990.

For ten years, from 1990 to 2000, Priestley was at the center of the action thanks to his role in Beverly Hills, 90210. In 2002, however, the actor was involved in a bad car accident which, although he survived, ended his attention for racing.

Priestley crashed head-on into a wall at nearly 180 miles per hour during the last practice session at the Kentucky Speedway. After the accident, he was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center where he was found to have a fractured spine in the middle of his back, broken bones in both feet and a closed head injury.

After a few years of absence from the sport, Priestley returned to become co-owner of the FAZZT Race Team that competed in the 2010 IndyCar Series.
