The Danish professional footballer Christian Eriksen has experienced a rapid rise in his football career since he first became interested in the sport at the age of 2. In 2010 he joined the senior national team of his country and became the youngest player to play at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
The year was indeed his breakthrough year when he won his first major trophy – the Eredivisie with Ajax. It was the first of three trophies he won with the team before moving to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
The attacking midfielder was first named Danish Footballer of the Year in 2013. He received the honor for the following two years and again in 2017.
Christian Eriksen Bio
Christian Dannemann Eriksen was born on 14 February 1992 in Middelfart, Denmark. He started his youth career with his local team Middelfart G&BK. After a decade on the team, Eriksen continued his youth career with Odense Boldklub. In his first season with OB, he was named “Best Technical Player”.
At the age of 17, Eriksen’s skills began to attract the interest of a number of major European clubs, including AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United. Eriksen joined Ajax in 2008 with a 2.5-year contract worth approximately €1 million.
At Ajax, he quickly rose through the ranks as a youth player and about two years later he was promoted to the senior national team. Over the years, Eriksen’s skills also improved, and he soon became a key player for the Dutch team. He led the team to the 2010/2011 Eredivisie title, the first trophy the team had won in 7 years. In the two seasons that followed, Ajax won the title again.
With his contract still a year away, Eriksen decided it was time for a new challenge. In August 2013, he joined the Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur with an £11 million contract. He scored his first goal for the English team in a Europa League match against Norwegian club Tromsø IL in September 2013.
In 2018, many major clubs, including Barcelona, began to show interest in Christian Eriksen.
Christian Eriksen, the son of football coaches Dorthe and Thomas Eriksen, had the support of his parents from day one. Both are soccer coaches by profession. Eriksen’s parents coached him at his local club, Middelfart G&BK, and always looked after his wellbeing and helped him choose the best teams as he progressed in his career.
When the young Eriksen applied for teams, Chelsea’s reaction, describing him as too weak, annoyed his father so much that he developed a strong hatred for the club. The West London club had rejected his son after two attempts and wanted him to try for a third time, but Thomas disagreed.
Eriksen’s family includes a younger sister named Louise Eriksen, who was born in 1997. Eriksen and his sister played football together as children. Like her older brother, Louise Eriksen plays in midfield. When she played for the Kolding Q club in 2017, she was appointed to the women’s national team, where she plays as a defensive midfielder. Eriksen maintains a very close relationship with his sister, who supports her and will watch her play whenever he can.
In the meantime, the man has started to build a family of his own with his girlfriend Sabrina Kvist Jensen. The couple started dating in 2012 and were spotted dating in London. In December 2017, the player, who frequently posts snapshots of his Bae on his social media accounts, went to Instagram to reveal that they were expecting a baby.
Not much is known about Sabrina except that she was born and raised in Tommerup, Denmark. Today she lives in London with her partner Eriksen.
