Nicole was born on August 2, 1985, in Salisbury, North Carolina, and was a talented child from the beginning. Her full birth name is Brittany Nicole Waddell. Singing began for Nicole at her local church, the Truth Temple of Kannapolis, North Carolina when she was just three years old. The church was also her grandfather’s church.

She was a student at South Rowan High School, where she joined the school choir and performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, a choir of which Nicole was a member. And along with her cousin and brother, Nicole was also involved in her church’s daily program, which ran on WAXN. She was also gifted in dance and practiced a variety of styles while she was a member of the Brightleaf Music Workshop at Duke University.

When Nicole left high school, she embarked on a full-time music career. On January 10, 2003, she released her debut album Follow the Call. The following year Nicole signed management and development agreements with Vertical Entertainment and Word Records. In 2006, she signed with Sparrow Records, and her song Indestructible appeared on the WOW Next 2007 compilation CD.

She has sung at several festivals and has also appeared in separate works alongside other artists. Her first album, Say It, was released on May 22, 2007. The album made it to number 40 on Billboard’s Christian album-hit parade. The song “You”, which was part of the album, turned out to be a huge hit. According to R&R Magazine, it was the 12th most played song on Christian Hit radio stations in 2007. Their first music video was shot for the song “Believe”. Also in 2007, she released a Christmas EP called Holiday Trio. It contained the songs “Holiday”, “Come What May” and “Last Christmas”.

In 2009 Nicole dropped a new song “The Lost Get Found” which was part of her second album release. Nicole’s third album was released on December 21, 2011. The lead single of the album was released before the album was released; the song was entitled “All This Time”. The song spent eight weeks at #1 on the Christian pop radio charts and also reached #3 on the Billboard charts Hot Christian Songs.

The next album entitled Gold was released in March 2012. Gold debuted in the charts of Hot Christian albums and Billboard 200 at #1 and 41 respectively. Nicole signed with Capitol Records, Gold was released in December 2012 as the debut single in the mainstream. The Gold EP was released in early January 2013.

The remixes, Nicole’s first remix album, was released in March 2015. One year later, in July 2016, the lead single from her fourth album, Through Your Eyes, was released. The complete package for the album was released on October 7, 2016. It was entitled “Britt Nicole” and was released in October in both the luxury and standard editions.

Britt Nicole is married to Joshua Crosby. The couple entered into the bond of marriage on July 1, 2012. The couple announced that they expect their first child on February 5, 2013. Months later, on July 24, 2013, Nicole gave birth to her first child, a little girl named Ella Brave Crosby. One year later, on September 3, 2014, the couple announced their expectation for another child. Adin Jerusalem Crosby was born on February 8, 2015.

Nicole’s parents were divorced when the singer was just seven years old

In two of her songs, “Don’t Worry Now” and “All The Time”, she spoke about her parents’ divorce.
